Is there an artwork or copy limit?

Copy size varies on each product. JVA will be able to advise you of the specifications of each project. You may supply your own camera ready art or JVA will be glad to help you with your camera ready art. There is no charge for the first 30 minutes of our art time. Additional time may be charged at $65 per hour.

What is camera ready art?

Camera ready art is artwork that can be sent to our vendors without further preparation or changes. All artwork should be able to be color separated and registered to size. Precise details as to color, crop marks and placement should be noted. Please note: Camera-ready IS NOT paper laser prints, photocopies, hand sketches, imprinted merchandise, stationery or business cards. Correct camera ready art greatly enhances the finished product.

What type of art do you accept for printing?

We prefer Adobe Illustrator (.ai) files saved to CS2 with all text outlined, ESP files created from any program in CS2 Suite, including InDesign and PhotoShop. Some PDF files are acceptable, call JVA for specifications. High resolution jpeg files are acceptable for photos only and may not be used for graphics as they can not be color separated. When in doubt always call JVA and we will be happy to discuss options with you or your designer. (510-612-1582)

How do I get my art to JVA?

Very simple, email an attachment to jan_jvamarket@yahoo.com and refer to your order. If you have multiple orders placed, be sure to indicate on the email subject line which order the art is for. It is best to send separate emails for each order placed. JVA will email a confirmation receipt of your art within 2 working days. Should you not receive a confirmation, please call our office. Halftones & Ghost Printing?

Artwork intended for ghost imprinting SHOULD BE submitted as a solid color. Ghosted images will be printed at your % specified recommendation, or if you prefer we can advise you.

How Do I Place An Order?

There are several ways to place an order with JVA. The easiest way for you is your choice. You can call us direct at 510-612-1582; you can email us jan_jvamarket@yahoo.com a simple note with basic information and ask us to call you back; or you can fill out our detailed order form and attach your art and it will be emailed to be us. In all cases, we are here to help you get your order processed correctly and on time for you.

How Do I Place An Order For Holiday And All Occasion Greeting Cards?

There are special directions to order your Holiday and All Occasion Greeting Cards. You will need to use a shopping cart, similar to those used by many other on-line ordering systems. Data from this cart will be emailed to JVA within 48 hours. If you prefer you can write down the number of the card and call our office 510-612-1582 and we can take your order over the phone.

Custom Quotes?

Some of our factories work on a custom quote basis particularly on larger quantity purchases or special items. If you have a question, it is best to call JVA. (510) 612-1582

Drop Shipments / Special Packaging / Split Shipments

A single order that requires split shipments to different locations and/or packaging with varying quantizes for different persons requires a master list indicating the addresses and quantities going to each location with a contact name. Each additional shipping location may incur a Drop Shipment Charge.

F.O.B. Point

All orders are F.O.B. factory or vendor. A shipping charge will be included in your order from that point to your location. Most shipments are drop shipped directly to you from our vendor, however you may request to have your order delivered to our office for pick up or, in some cases we will deliver it to you from our office at no additional charge.

Less Than Minimum

Some of our manufacturers allow less than minimum orders. This will be determined on a case by case basis. In all cases a "less than minimum" cost will be charged.

Normal Production Time/Shipping Time

Stock items without a custom imprint (peel and stick business card magnets for example) are usually shipped 48 hours after the order is placed to the factory, unless otherwise stated, allow 4-5 days UPS ground shipping. For custom imprinted items, allow 10 days from approval of virtual proof and 4-5 days UPS ground shipping. Larger orders may take longer times to print and ship due to changes in printing and shipping methods. Rush orders are available, in most cases there are additional costs. Please always give us your absolute in hands date when placing your order and we can help you determine if any rush services will be needed.

Order Acknowledgement

Acknowledgments will be made via email within 48 hours or via phone if more information is needed.

Overruns/Underruns

Factories in most cases will ship the EXACT quantity ordered. But they do reserve the right, in accordance with printing industry standards, to ship 5% over or under the quantity ordered. The exact quantity shipped will be noted on your final invoice and is the quantity that will be billed. With many factories we can request no over-runs, however we will be subject to under-runs in those cases.

Proofs

If we set up your artwork for you, you will receive a proof of your art before it goes to the factory for printing. We will expect your timely approval before any further action is taken. Many factories provide proofs at no additional charge in the form of a virtual proof. For those factories that charge for proofs, you will be notified of the charge at the time you place your order and you will have the option of requesting one or not. Factory proofs will not be available on RUSH orders.

Repeat Orders

When possible please refer to purchase order or date of previous purchase.

Rush Orders

We will accommodate rush requests whenever possible. You may need to upgrade to factory rush charges and/or freight to 2nd day or overnight.

Samples and Catalogs

Random Samples are usually provided at no charge. Spec Samples will be billed at factory price which varies by factory. Please provide your shipping account number for expedited or overnight shipping requests. Online catalogs are available for most of our vendors.

PMS/Spot Color Match

There is no charge to match our vendor's standard colors. All PMS exact color matches will be charged at vendor price. Where possible, an "as close to as possible", will be suggested and those colors will be at no charge.
